The Dull Skates Edition

Masters Division playoffs are underway while United wrapped up their regular season. Leafs are losing to the hated Bruins again on my tv set so this guy is a bit miserable this evening.

United Division:

Oilers 7 Flyers 4: Flyers were missing Ryan Haslam but the Oilers played lights-out hockey for the most part. Oil takes this one 7-4 with Tristan Graham scoring a hatty and Shawn James adding a pair. For the Flyers, Dylan McInerney dropped a deuce in a losing cause. Flyers were missing a boatload of guys but their spares played one heck of a hockey game.

Sharks 3 Bruins 2: Matt Still scored the game winner as the Sharks took a bite out of the Bruins 3-2. Justin Mol and Chris Conroy replied for the Bruins as they head into the playoffs ready to roll. Media has alot of expectations for this Bruin team but captain Nic Mol told reporters his whole team doesn't pay attention to the outside noise.

Blackhawks 3 Redwings 2: John Carvalho scored the game winner as the Hawks edged the Redwings 3-2. This was the game of the night, folks. If you turned the tv off early, that's your own fault, not mine.

Carvalho is such a viking refrigerator with a lifetine warranty out there. Try getting the puck off him in the corner, I dare ya.

Masters Division:

Stars 7 Flyers 3: i broke out the fish sticks and curly fries for this one. Warren DeForest and Dino Giudice both scored twice to pace the Stars to a 7-3 win over the Flyers. Vince Mercuri played oit of this world... scoring a pair for the guys in orange who will view the game film and get back to the rink this weekend hoping for a better result. Stars captain Chris Barratto came to the arena pretty sour after the doordash driver forgot the bbq sauce.

Kings 2 Redwings 0: Tymen Edelkoort stopped 19 shots as the Kings shut out the Redwings 2-0. Ken "giraffe" Hutchinson and Mike Christenson scored the Kings goals. This was your typical defensive physical playoff game, folks. All 3 fans stayed right til the final buzzer to cheer on their SCOHA heroes. Redwings were missing Tim Manning's playoff pedigree and his absence did not go unnoticed.

Penguins 5 Sharks 0: Bill Curran scored the game winner as the Pens blanked the Sharks 5-0. 5 different scorers for the Penguins as they were in a sharing mood all night long. J.J.MacNeil turned away 14 shot for the goose egg. What can you say about this Penguin team.. They are like culinary giants who can make the perfect steak in a cupcake tin.

Blackhawks 4 Bruins 2: Frank Bortolin proved why he was a 1st round pick back in  '78 as he scored a pair for the winners. Frank is a free agent at the end of the season but doesn't want his contract talks to interfere with his team's playoff run. Did the Bruins get a little boozy back at the hotel the night before? I dont have that answer, sorry.

On that note, that's all from this end of the ice. What a long week. I am more worn out than Ghandi's flip flops but tomorrow is already Friday. Playoffs bring out the best in all of us. Rest up, fellas. Big games ahead this weekend.
