Copy of Note sent to Referee Andy Bushey

September 27, 2003

Dear Andy

It is with some sadness that I would like to make you aware that I will no longer be refereeing the S.C.O.H.A. men\'s hockey league. I believe the methodology for my recent demotion, comes from an Executive, which is going in a different direction and doesn\'t wish my services. I certainly would not want to become a burden to anyone having to schedule around my abilities. Unfortunately at no time in the past have any of these concerns been conveyed to me from this same Executive, in written or verbal form. The only knowledge I have received has been from you on a second hand basis. Perhaps I should watch them play hockey or manage their teams and critique their abilities!! At this point in time I have no wish to be a partial referee and accept the League’s analysis of my abilities. If I have a style, which is unacceptable to them, well of course they are the ones paying the bills.

As far as the loyalty issue goes, I always made myself available and at a moments notice would hustle over from my home or referee by myself for the good of the League. Both issues that don\'t seem so important now !! However I now believe that my talents and enthusiasm can be put to far better use elsewhere in the community.

I would like to thank S.C.O.H.A. and yourself for allowing me the opportunity to work with them over the years. Now it is time for me to go in a “different direction” as well this League Executive.

Thank you Casey Ciere
