A Division Week 11 summary

SCOHA 2002/2003
It was Eddie Balfour Week in both divisions with 5 of ten tilts resulting in shutout wins. In the A Division, 3 goose eggs may prompt the executives to execute a goalie equipment check. Get that measuring tape out! I guess that executive rep Don Ellis won't be doing the check.

The Leafs strengthened their grip on first place as Norm "Mr. Zero" Lyell posted his 101st career shutout blanking the Blues 3-0. Two more and he ties Terry Sawchuck's record of 103. Keep 'em coming Norm. Fred Bauer chipped in a couple of assists to share game honours with Norm.

Jim Croucher was no sloucher - he and his Rangers blanked the Flyers 3-0. Dennis McLaren scored twice for the Rangers.

Bill Jeffries was not to be outdone. Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, the Sharks are back , they're hungry and they took a big bite out the not-so-shining Stars 6-0. The hungriest Shark was Glenn Stuebing scoring 4 times and adding an assist.

The Canucks fell out of first place after losing for only the first time this season. They were burned by the suddenly hot Flames 4-2. Mark Powell and John Annibale scored for the Canucks. Joel Tambeau scored an empty net goal to snuff the Canuck's come back attempt with 21 seconds to go. Paul Mcgraw scored a beauty top shelf goal that put the Flames ahead to stay.

No place to go but up for the fired up Devils as they moved into 8th place by scorching the under- manned Bruins 7-5. Dangerous Dan Austin found his way back to the game sheet , and he has posted his own account for your reading enjoyment.
